Keeping Your Family Food Safe
You are invited to participate in a 1-1/2 hour class aimed at KEEPING YOUR FAMILY FOOD SAFE. The goal of these
sessions is to increase awareness of good food preparation practices, including safe food handling, serving, storage
and good sanitation.
You are surely aware of national attention focused on food safety to prevent foodborne illness. Our challenged
economy has renewed interest in cooking and eating at home. We'd like to encourage this healthy practice and
reinforce keeping food safe. We'll give attention to safety of take-out and left-over foods as well.
Our Rivers St. facility allows preparing for and serving much larger groups than we could previously accommodate
previously. Food safety becomes a much bigger responsibility when handling large quantities of food. We want
to insure food safety at all church functions.
Please call the church office (229-5416) to register for one of these Food Safety classes: Monday,
February 22 at 7:00 p.m. or Tuesday, February 23 at 9:00 a.m.. Both will be held in the puppet
theatre at RSC. Sessions are free and include instruction, activities and take home tools to help keep food
safe. We hope you willcome join us!
